I'm not sure why, but I have an innate suspicion of job postings that don't mention their pay rate.
I just seems like if they were confident that it was a fair (or one hopes, good) amount of money, they'd have it included in the listing.
And it feels a bit like they're expecting applicants to submit a resume and maybe get into the interview phase before discussions about pay come up at all. Which smacks to me more still of perhaps trying to get applicants into a sunk cost mentality of, "Well, that's less than I was hoping for/deserve, but I'm already here and this far into the process so I might as well keep going".
Is that fair of me to think? Or is there another, way less skeptical/glass half empty reason for not posting the pay rate in job ads?

I’ve reached out to companies where I would’ve suited the open job well but there was no hourly or annual wage posted and politely explained exactly that kind of point (ignoring my own potentially wasted time and leaning on theirs, which they’d care about more): That I don’t want to waste anyone’s time by applying for something I ultimately wouldn’t be able to accept, so could they give me an idea of wage?

A person who wrote a fusion of a cringy comming of age story, and a zero to hero story with an high school arch in a inconsitend magic system turned out to be a shitty person. Her HP universe is IMHO as shallow as she is. PPL grow out of it because its static and non evolving.

Your peers, and your ability to organize with them, will be your salvation: your neighbors, your co-workers, your friends and family. Those are the ones that will actually have your back.

I've been a self-employed consultant most of my life, from project/programme management big international projects to being a government advisor.
Made a killing, and lived the high-live, until 2014, when I suffered brain damage, and everything came crashing down. Suddenly, no income, and no prospect of an income. Haven't been able to work much since.
If not for some insurance my dad forced me to take out, I would have been living on the breadline now.
