... Denaturalization is a tactic that was heavily used during the McCarthy era of the late 1940s and the early 1950s and one that was expanded during the Obama administration and grew further during President Trump's first term. It's meant to strip citizenship from those who may have lied about their criminal convictions or membership in illegal groups like the Nazi party, or communists during McCarthyism, on their citizenship applications. ...

@HU Art Sound (2) Yep, saw that in the article, I particularly like the part about the Heritage Society defending it because its just being used against criminals. Yeah, I have a funny feeling the definition of criminal is going to change and keep changing.

Man, this should prolly be the default theme

@#SpaceHost Help was nice enough to install the Bookface theme for my instance, and I gotta say its really nice looking:

That's the light theme, and I'm not often a fan of light themes, at least not over dark themes, usually I don't have a preference, but the dark I don't think is quite as good:

Seriously, I think this is much better than the stock theme, and should always be included.

@vextaur
A Tumblr theme will be amazing. There are actually a few Tumblr-like platforms on the Fediverse, like Loforo, Wafrn

@#SpaceHost Help @🌴 Seph πŸ’ πŸ‘Ύ Yeah, Friendica seems the easiest route, so long as you can live with losing audio and video files, something it doesn't handle, but you do get RSS feeds and Diaspora access which is almost unique to it.

As to the others, neither feels quite like Tumblr, Wafrn feels the least original, can't put my finger on what it reminds me of, but it almost feels like something we already have but zoomed in. Loforo definitely feels unique, prolly more like Tumblr, though that right sidebar really needs to float.

Anyone have an alternative to @Altbot ? It seems to have died, the account still exists, but its not doing anything.

The image depicts a cartoon scene set in a hospital's maternity ward. In the foreground, a heavily armed individual wearing a green military-style uniform with "ICE" written on the vest is standing among several baby cribs. The person is holding a firearm and appears to be interacting with the cribs. The cribs are arranged in rows, each containing a baby wrapped in a white blanket. The babies are sleeping peacefully, and each crib has a pink label with a name tag.

In the background, through a window labeled "MATERNITY WARD," a man in a white shirt is visible, holding a document titled "BIRTHING CITIZENSHIP EXTENSION BILL." The room has a clock on the wall and a door to the right. The overall tone of the image is satirical, highlighting a controversial issue related to immigration and birthright citizenship.

The image features a meme with text and a photograph. The text at the top reads: "Me: I'm making an omelette! Flips omelette Me: I'm making scrambled eggs!" Below the text is a photograph of a frying pan containing scrambled eggs, with a black spatula resting on the pan. The eggs are yellow and appear to be cooked, with some white bits visible. In the background, there is a carton of eggs and broken eggshells, suggesting that the eggs were cracked open for cooking. The frying pan is placed on a cloth with a floral pattern, and the countertop appears to be made of a light-colored material.

UC Davis study: Disposable vapes may be more toxic than cigarettes sfchronicle.com/health/article…
Using a lab device to simulate 500 to1,500 puffs per product, the UC Davis researchers found that metal concentrations increased with use. Leaded bronze components and degrading heating coils were identified as major sources of contamination.
