It took a NZ news site for me to find out what the mistake was, apparently they listed wicked.com which is kinda obviously porn, an obvious name that would've been snapped up during the early days of the internet.

Mattel accidentally linked a porn site on Wicked doll packaging theverge.com/2024/11/11/242933…

@frater chaos I do Panera/St Louis Bread Co because of their sip club, prepay $15 and you can get a free self serve drink every two hours. Seeing as how I drive for a living, I'm loving that... Wait, prolly can't say that, it's prolly Β©McDonalds

Caught this guy crawling on one of my inflatables

And I gently shooed him off, and watched him wander off, while being careful not to step on him.

Done For Today

The wife finally made it home so I can get started on the towel shelf project now. Life goes on here on the other side of the international date line.

Need to convince this thing to allow me to follow Tumblr

I've used the RSS feeds in the past, but I think you can follow a website too, so we'll see what we wind up doing.

Why do either?
Look at the Clay Bennet cartoon I just shared, all you get is a link with no preview, and they have no Fediverse sharing at GoComics, however if I share to Tumblr, something they do have, that previews fine, and then I can share that from the feed with the preview.

So, still got some tinkering to do.

End of the season

Took down the Halloween decorations, though the inflatables are still outside drying out, or at least I'm hoping they are. Took down the elections signs too, since that's over.

Christmas decorations will go up around Thanksgiving or a bit later, but these aren't going anywhere:

Nor is our Pagan holiday flag (wind didn't let me get a pic of the Samhain flag that's out there at the moment).

A man walked into the produce section of his local supermarket and asked to buy half a head of lettuce. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of lettuce. The man was insistent that the boy ask his manager about the matter.
Walking into the back room, the boy said to his manager, "Some asshole wants to buy a half a head of lettuce." As he finished his sentence, he turned to find the man standing right behind him, so he added, "...and this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half." The manager approved the deal and the man went on his way.
Later, the manager found the boy and said, "I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier. We like people who think on their feet here. Where are you from, son?"
"Canada, sir," the boy replied.
"Well, why did you leave Canada?" the manager asked.
The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but whores and hockey players up there."
"Really!" said the manager. "My wife is from Canada!"
The boy replied, "No kidding?! Who did she play for?"

A question for the #friendica admins out there.

My instance seems to be missing a user feature, as you can see from the pics, on my old venera.social account (the striped one), there's a 'network widgets' section in additional features, which is missing from my new hosted instance.
Is that an old feature, or is that missing from my instance?
Is it something I as the admin need to activate, or do I need to ask my host to do that?

Thanks

EDIT
Forgot to mention, we're running Friendica 'Giant Rhubarb' 2023.05 - 1518
That's rather old, isn't it?
