...but is there a way to easily share RSS feed likes on a mastodon account?

@jove

The RSS is just a one-directional feed.

You can't interact with a Mastodon account from RSS as there's no authentication mechanism to prove who you are. You would have to sign in on your Fediverse account to interact.

However, you can share and like RSS posts on Mastodon, Friendica etc if you are following RSS from your Mastodon, Friendica etc account. This won't feed back to the RSS owner though.

@Fedi.Tips Don't forget that #friendica has a built in RSS feed reader, articles show up in your timeline just like any other post.

@vextaur

Yes, I mention that in the guide, in the section "Friendica: Champion of RSS" 🙂

Friendica also lets you turn RSS feeds into Fediverse accounts that people can follow from other Fediverse platforms.

Can you share some RSS accounts from Friendica?

@artyom

Yes, if you follow an RSS feed in Friendica its content appears as posts in your feed which you can share.

@artyom You mean boost posts? Quote boost only, but yep. Here, you can see a very slight difference between post types in this pic:
