The image is a text-based graphic with a blue, cloudy background. The text is white and centrally aligned.

The text reads verbatim: β€œArticle II Section 4: If the president is impeached for treason, the vice president and all civil officers shall be removed.” The background has a gradient of blue hues, resembling a cloudy sky. There are no other visible elements in the image besides the text and the background. The font is a sans-serif style and is easily readable against the blue backdrop.

Bit of a shame they seem to have torn up that document. You'll need a new one, once you've deposed them.

@faraiwe

Much more than that. Y'all need to make your judiciary completely independent of the executive and the legislature, and stop making judges a political appointment. That would be a good start.

@bytebro you don't seem to grasp it.

Read my previous post. Then read it again.

The Judiciary IS *supposed* to be independent, as is the Legislative, by Constitution.

That doesn't mean anything, if people are not willing to stand up for that separation.

This is not a new thing happening, just because you happened to notice now; it's a decades long project of fringe right wing christofascism reaction.

that’s not how that section has ever been interpreted. It means that any of those people can be removed for cause by congress.

@Ludwig Vielfrass Not like this admin isn't finding new ways to interpret things the way they want them, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

That's not what it says. The text is

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

That doesn't imply that if the president is impeached and convicted, the VP and his entire cabinet are removed too; it means that each of them individually can be impeached and removed.
