Screenshot of a portion of an email I received from Veterans For Responsible Leadership. “Hi Brian, Veterans For Responsible Leadership is rescinding its endorsement of Graham Platner for U.S. Senate, effective immediately, following the credible sexual assault allegation reported this week by Politico. Conduct of this kind, even as alleged, runs against the fiber of our organization and who we represent. Mr. Platner denies the allegation and is entitled to due process; but given the gravity and pattern of concerns surrounding his interactions with women, we believe he can no longer credibly carry this campaign forward. We are calling on him to withdraw from the race before the July 13th deadline. Maine cannot afford to lose this seat to scandal and distraction. We call on Congressman Jared Golden to enter the race. VFRL endorsed Congressman Golden in the past due to his record of independence and service.”
