Anyone else using DeltaChat?

Giving it a try right now, since Signal has been annoying me, and liking what I see, supposedly as secure, uses email protocols (Chatmail) for message transport.

@Xoa Gray Yeah, I'll prolly face that problem, right now I have @RS, Author, Novelist, Prosaist on there with me to test it out. Have run into one minor problem, I'm using an existing email address, and one of my emails showed up in there as a chat. If need be, since I'm using a hosted email, I'll just create a new account using a dedicated email address, since I'm too lazy to set up ChatMail.

@sfwrtr I think when I did mine I let it just make me an address specifically for Deltachat. No idea how well it works though, never ran into anyone to use it with yet.
I think it's a cool idea, but I don't know if I'll keep it. It doesn't matter how cool something is if no one I know uses it. / wants to talk there.

@Xoa Gray Yeah, that's what they recommend these days, use their ChatMail server or one of the ones available on the web, I think its slightly more secure than using email.

Hmm, thinking about it, @Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox do you support it?

While we don't support it now, members of our team have chatted with Delta Chat a few years ago at FOSDEM to talk about how we could integrate support. We also have a Mozilla Support suggestion you can upvote and comment on to help show support for developing this! connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/d…

@Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox Just seems a natural for an email client with chat support since its SMTP and IMAP based messaging.
