I realize this kind of thing is necessary right now, but I hate where this is going. It's going to make state politics even more partisan.

@Xoa Gray Yeah, and even funnier is the news that Republicans are suing over it apparently because doing this is illegal I guess?

@Xoa Gray Its even dumber than you think, Texas legislators did it in a special session IIRC, California did it using a ballot initiative, but apparently according to Republicans they're seizing power from the people.

@Xoa Gray Not sure, after all the Dems suffer from being realistic, and every level of government is Republican there, so a law suit would be a lost cause.

Probably. Though the more the state does things like this, the more likely it is that Texas won't stay red for long. While it's lawmakers are largely republican right now, the red majority there isn't as big as it used to be.
