Yeah, I'd expect that's the thing. It is something I've noticed as well with the Fediverse, it's supposed to all be interoperable, but it's really only partially so.

Ok, I'm being a bit silly, but not entirely. I use Friendica because it has three features I consider necessary:
1β’ Quote posts, now done by Mastodon 2β’ RSS/Atom feed reader, you can follow feeds just like any of your friends on the Fediverse and they show up in your timelines just like them. 3β’Diaspora compatibility, its just nice having access to the entire Fediverse.
Yeah, that's it, the thing is that I don't really like Friendica's interface, I much prefer the one Diaspora has, so maybe Diaspora with added AP connectivity and a feed reader? I seem to remember more than once someone saying they wanted to create something for the Fediverse, plus there's a couple young projects, GoToSocial and SocialHome that almost offer this, they just lack the feed reader.
Isn't #friendica 's components available for use in other projects? I seem to remember that its creator made a suite of components available for building Fedi projects
