So, I did make a post a bit ago about being willing to pay to get software that I want, one Fediverse project, and one Android project. I did get a reply from Damn Good Tech, but I thought I'd do a new thread that goes into more detail of what I'm looking for using three replies to create threads for the different projects, and I'm looking to hire for two of the three, as I remembered an alternative Fediverse software I'd want instead, if'n I can afford it, though I'll admit I have no idea what that'll cost nor whether I can afford it, but lets find out, no?

Android project

I need a mileage tracker, nothing fancy, just a replacement for my paper notebook. Looking at it, this would prolly make more sense to be a forms app, as I'm not necessarily looking for something that's exclusive to me. While there are forms apps to be found on the Play store, the problem is that they all rely on Google sheets to collect the data, and I want to go open source.

So, this means a simple forms app that exports its data as either ODS or CSV

Fediverse project 1

This could be called improved Friendica.
Friendica is nice in having scheduling, RSS reader, unlimited length posts, and Diaspora compatibility. On the other hand, the interface is cluttered, you practically need a college degree to use the settings panel and its unable to handle audio or video files.

So this could be a fork of Friendica with features added and improvements, a fork of something else with features added, or a ground-up all new project.

Fediverse 2

This one is actually simpler, taking a page from Holos.social, a more traditional Fediverse server running on Android that could be run from a spare device, rather than my primary device.

Holos social is awesome as it lets you simply run an app on your phone that gives you a Fediverse server, but this requires a relay system to keep you connected to the Fediverse as your phone can easily change IPs as you move from tower to tower or switch between WiFi and cellular. Using a spare device on my home network eliminates all that, and eliminates the need for a client app being built in as you'd just access it using a standard Mastodon client. Throw in an easy set up system both for the server and the domain settings, and this would give me and others an easy way to self-host.

@apps if you'd be up for building something like this, I'd be up for funding it. Heck, although it wouldn't be FOSS technically I could see this as a sellable software, I mean the kind of target is people like me that have a hosted instance, and that runs $20/mo, $240 annually, I'd happily drop $150 on software like this, possibly more considering what I'll save in the long run (talking purchasing here, not development support).
