Footage of Ukrainian drones using recoilless shotguns to take out hovering Russian drones.

For now, these shotgun drones aren't going after fast maneuvering drones, but that may change. Cost per shot compared is MUCH lower than one time use FPV drones.

@Richard No AI yet, but some sort of motion detecting routine might be used to detect/track enemy drones in view of the camera. It's a tough challenge, though, because of the small size of the enemy drone, potentially very fast speed, and challenging background.

However, the challenges might be VASTLY simplified by angling the shotguns and camera upward. That way, the enemy drone will appear as a dark splotch against a bright background.

Huh. So then it becomes a fight for the low ground to get the high ground.

@Richard This isn't new to air combat. Early guided missiles lacked the ability to "look down shoot down". For example, Vietnam era Sidewinder missiles had difficulty locking onto and tracking targets against the hot jungle background.

Reminds me of the old Atari 2600 Air-Sea Battle video game with altitude marked with stripes of colors. This killing tool works at this altitude, that killing tool works at that altitude, etc.
