It's one of the reasons I like being a season ticket holder to our NWSL team. The league, the team, the stadium. Everything is all about inclusiveness and pride. Rainbows everywhere.
For a while our team had a player who was avowedly anti-gay. My son and many others would boo when her name was read. The guy in front of us tried to argue that while he agreed with the sentiment we should welcome a team member regardless of politics. I asked him whether he would feel the same way if the woman proclaimed she was proud to be a racist.
