if enough US citizens wrote/emailed/phoned/screamed

kept it up, we could regain our #democracy

He's already been impeached twice!

There have been four impeachments of US Presidents, and none of them has resulted in a President being removed from office, for the simple reason that it requires 67 Senators to vote for removal. That's very unlikely ever to happen. Certainly Trump will not be removed. There's not a snowball's chance in Hell that the Senate will remove Trump.

One President resigned rather than be impeached. That was Nixon.

Andrew Johnson was impeached. 67 Senators did not vote to remove him.
Bill Clinton was impeached. 67 Senators did not vote to remove him.
Donald Trump was impeached. 67 Senators did not vote to remove him.
Donald Trump was impeached a second time. 67 Senators did not vote to remove him.

One definition of insanity is to continue to try something, even when it has never succeeded. Not even once in history.

Are you confusing impeachment with removal? Impeachment is drafting articles of impeachment. This is done by the House of Representatives. Removal, if it happens, is done by the Senate.

Ah. I typed the wrong number in one sentence. When Johnson was impeached there were only 54 Senators. Two thirds of 54 is 36. So I should have written

Andrew Johnson was impeached. 36 Senators did not vote to remove him.

the point is to harass all Congressional reps -- Senators as well, once the impeachment process begins
and the real point is the mass outcry, taking back our self rule
