Something that hasn't been made clear: Firefox will have an option to completely disable all AI features.

We've been calling it the AI kill switch internally. I'm sure it'll ship with a less murderous name, but that's how seriously and absolutely we're taking this.

I read that thread yesterday. I would rather they make any AI stuff an extension that had to be added and approved rather than opting out.
If they come through with a one click "we pinky swear it's all off" 'kill switch' then maybe.
It has been a bit of a drag having to look through the settings and about:config to check for new checkboxes to deselect ai tidbits.

So someone posted their favorite sign over on Mastodon, and I replied with what is my favorite sign, the 'No Straight' sign.

First time I saw this was on a new intersection where one side is a highway ramp, and the other a two-way road, apparently 'Do Not Enter' signs weren't enough, so they put one of these up. Honestly, I'm surprised to know its a standard, Missouri isn't exactly known for sticking to standards, whether its abbreviations like LA for lane, or the non-standard all text signs on the road to my house announcing the road closure ahead and the truck ban on it.

Shame, but not really surprising, I mean starting at $60K and that was with a rebate AFAIK? Yeah, it was doomed from day one.

When Ronald Reagan first came into office, all of the US university libraries were sent federal orders to report all students checking out The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. At the University of Washington all bachelor degree students are required to take a certain amount of units in courses outside of their major. In 1981 one of my first courses at UW was in Political Science. I bought my copy of The Communist Manifesto in order to do the required reading in that class, and to keep from being reported to the FBI.
