Here's an alt-text description of the image:

The image shows a wide outdoor space covered in a large amount of trash and debris. Orange traffic cones are visible in the midground, partially blocking the view. Scattered throughout the scene are many plastic water bottles, food wrappers, and other discarded items. A large group of people are standing in the background, partially obscured by the debris. The text in the image reads: "Jamie Bonkiewicz [@]JamieBonkiewicz This is a picture of 'war ravaged' Portland. Just kidding, this is Glendale, Arizona after the Charlie Kirk memorial."

Here's an alt-text description of the image:

This is a digitally created image resembling a news headline featuring a portrait of Mariah Carey and a smaller inset image of a person in a suit. The main image shows Mariah Carey looking to the left, wearing a black dress and several necklaces, with hair styled in long waves. She is positioned against a blurry, dark background. In the upper left corner is a smaller circular portrait of a person in a dark suit and blue patterned tie.

Below the main portrait is text that reads: β€œMariah Carey Told To β€˜Leave The U.S.’ After Admitting She Didn’t Know Charlie Kirk – Critics Jeered: β€˜Darling, I remember melodies, not mediocrity’”. The background of the image is a dark, gradient color with a slight shimmer. The composition is designed to resemble a tabloid news article or online sensational headline.

Here's an alt-text description of the image:

The image shows a group of people on a body of water, likely a lake or bay, with several boats visible. In the foreground, a person is standing on the back of a boat, giving a salute with their right hand. The person is wearing a black t-shirt, blue shorts, and a red hat, and there is a swastika armband visible on their left arm. Two flags are prominently displayed: one with the text β€œTrump” and another that is an inverted and mirrored version of the same text. The flags are red, white, and blue. In the background, there are other boats and people, with some of them holding up similar flags.

The text at the top of the image reads: "I'm not saying Donald Trump is a Nazi. But America's Nazis believe he is."

The image is a square photo of a small kitten sitting in a corner of a room. The kitten is facing slightly to the left and has orange and white fur. The walls are a light beige color, and the floor appears to be made of wood. Above the kitten is the text β€œI am opposite of artificial intelligence” and below the kitten is the text β€œI am genuine stupidity.” A small watermark logo is in the bottom right corner of the image.

The image depicts a large group of military personnel in uniform, seated in a crowded auditorium. They are all laughing and appear to be enjoying a humorous moment. The individuals are wearing various military uniforms, with some adorned with medals and insignia, indicating different ranks and achievements. The setting is formal, with rows of seats and a high ceiling, suggesting an official military event or ceremony. In the foreground, a speech bubble with the text "FOR THE EPSTEINTH TIME, YOUR DISTRACTIONS AREN'T WORKING!" is visible, adding a humorous context to the scene. The overall atmosphere is one of camaraderie and shared amusement among the military personnel.

DeltaChat for the win

Ok, maybe not for the win per se, but I am switching over to DeltaChat as I really only have two people I share with.

While its not perfect, it works well enough for me, I just send the occasional message, link or image to others or m'self, and it does that fine. This time around, I've got the sticker thing sorta fixed, Android doesn't offer a sticker option, something I need to see if'n I can figure a work around for, but I've got it working well on my desktop. I've also tried the Mastodon bridge, and that works fine, but having your home timeline show up as chat messages get old fast, notifications are a little bit better, but still, bad idea. There is a Telegram bridge, but that looks like it only works to bridge Telegram Groups to DeltaChat, so that's not all that great.

So what is DeltaChat? Its an email based encrypted messenger. You can use an existing email address, though I don't recommend that, or get one from DeltaChat or a couple other servers. Clients exist for Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android... And I suppose there's one for Windows too.

I guess if'n anyone wants to try it, or has questions, I can try to answer them, just shout at me here.

@Hiro Lynx πŸΎβ™«πŸ§ I'd heard something about that, but hadn't tried it. Not sure how well it'll work, but we'll see if'n I can get it installed and working, animated images don't seem to work in the Android client though

EDIT
That works very nice, thanks. Wonder if'n iOS needs a solution like that or if'n it just works.

@sfwrtr Unfortunately not, I wish they would integrate the stickers in the app directly.

However there seems to be some way to use the native iOS keyboard for this:

support.apple.com/en-in/guide/…

It seems to be supposed to work with Deltachat, as there is a solved issue about it in their GitHub, with a little video:

github.com/deltachat/deltachat…

I've not used an Apple product in ages myself so I hope it works!

@vextaur@blog.taursnd.

Deltachat mobile doesn't support stickers [workaround].

I found a good workaround that works well for #Apple #Mac, not quite a sticker picker but similar amount of clicks on iPad and iPhone. I like the odds that it would work on #windows and #linux versions.

  1. On Desktop apps, display your installed stickers and find a Show Sticker Folder button at the bottom.
  2. Click button. This displays the folders with .webp files.
  3. Create a Delta folder at the top level in iCloud (or whatever).
  4. Copy all the sticker folders to iCloud.
  5. In a #iPad or #iPhone chat, use πŸ“Ž (paperclip) button.
  6. Tap Files.
  7. Navigate to iCloud Delta folder and drill down to sticker folder, then double-click the sticker you want. The .webp file will be inserted, and the mobile app shows it animated!
  8. If you selected a sticker, the picker will remember the folder for next time.

Optional: Tell Files to display icons. To the extent that works in Files on the iPad and iPhone (questionable), you will see the key image for the sticker.
