Healthcare in this country is already such a mess. I really fear for people with this guy at the helm of HHS. The damage he's doing could last for years after he's gone.

Odd question 'bout Pixelfed

@dansup but can the interface be re-skinned? I'm just thinking that all these art sites, FurAffinity, Deviant Art, Art Untamed and such, all look similar, but are uniquely coded and incompatible with one another, would a Federated alternative be possible? It seems that Pixelfed would be a good base for this, no?

What a day

So, today got off to an interesting start, was up late, plus up for a bit in the morn, typical for me, and finally woke up at about 0825... And my phone has a message saying that I've been assigned a work shift at 1010. I had put in for one, but assumed I wouldn't be getting one, but nope, must've been short handed again, joygasm.

So, slightly accelerated morning, cancelled my casual plans for the day, those'll prolly happen tomorrow, and got to work. Assigned to a fairly decent zone, with a reasonable package load, in fact it was all small to medium stuff, so I had all but about four things in my totes that sit on my passenger seat, making it easy to grab when I arrive. From load to done, six hours, $130, not a bad day.

Really, nothing to complain about, I could use the money, and wasn't a bad day, I could use more like that, but still, didn't really want to work.

Got home, worked on comics for a bit, I'm beating on the letter S, and I think its winning. We've got five long boxes, and two short boxes of just that letter, with the shorts and one of the longs still to be organized into the rest of the books. So far we have a long box for Star Trek & Star Wars, though that might become just Star Trek, and I'm setting one up for DC Super titles, Superman, Superwoman, Superpowers, and on and on. I'll continue on that tomorrow, and maybe I'll finally get that done. Then there's merging some previously sorted boxes with recently sorted, and some restacking, and when that is finally done, its onto the letter T and beyond. Yeah, at least another eight hours of work, prolly more.

'De Minimis' Tariff Exemptions End For Low-Value U.S. Packages Shipped From Abroad | HuffPost Latest News

Gotta say I'm not sure how I feel about this, and frankly, I'm directly impacted. Consumerism is a disease, and this feeds it. I think some exceptions or some manner of refund/rebate program should be in place for small sellers and/or certain types of items, but in general, I can't say I'm against it.

In keeping with the biological analogies, elections are akin to _sexual selection_; they select for people that are electable, which bears no relation to actually solving problems.

The image depicts a black and white cartoon scene at a beach. Two people are sitting on a blanket under a striped beach umbrella, with one person working on a laptop and the other holding a drink. In front of them, a group of seagulls is approaching, seemingly interested in the food in a basket. The seagulls are lined up, facing the people, and one of them is speaking, saying, "Okay, lady...about the food in the basket. We can do this the easy way, or the Hitchcock way." The background shows a beach with other people, umbrellas, and a mountainous landscape. The scene humorously suggests a potential confrontation between the people and the seagulls over the food.
