You know who else...?

Every king or queen that ever lived.

Camelot. The pyramids of Egypt. Versailles. Taj Mahal. Etc.

The wealthy and powerful have always been the very worst human beings, and the source of most of our most severe problems.

Trumps ballroom may as well be a tomb. No one is ever going to dance or eat there. It's just another monument to one person's vanity. Like the Taj Mahal and the pyramids of Egypt.

The freaky thing is that Trump is so vain that this is an effective way to bribe him.

BTW, every President gets to have a Presidential Library after they leave office. This is also just a way to bribe Presidents. See John Oliver's explanation of how this works.

The president is a public servant. Of course the head of state is normally expected to live in a degree of comfort and perhaps even some opulence, but that doesn't mean that his or her residence becomes a place of entertainment for hire.
