Elon has understood that anyone who does not crawl sufficiently deep into the ass of the regent who had been cheated for his Nobel Peace Prize could be the next.
He is probably afraid that what he had planned for others himself could happen to him.

If he again rebels against his imperator, the Don will certainly reserve a nice room near Maduro for him.

He's the 'we can coup anyone we want' guy, who sure seemed happy when they tried, and thankfully failed, to install a right winger in Bolivia who was chomping at the bit to privatise their mineral wealth and do something about the indigenous people who live atop it.
