Not a fan of this practice. It's intereting, because I usually encounter this most often when I don't use Amazon. The last mile is supposedly the most expensive. I've had many deliveries that start out UPS or FexEx, and then end up USPS for the last mile. It's frustrating. For me, USPS is the least desirable delivery service. It can be flakey. While most of my Amazon deliveries do arrive from Amazon themselves, they do occassionally use USPS. According to the article they cite safety, but I firmly believe it's also about cost. What's interesting-- I see Amazon delivery, FedEx, and UPS in my neighborhood every day no matter what.
