I mean its not like I would've been surprised to hear the song modified, maybe gayed up if'n it were Dee Snider or George Michael singing it, or for a straight guy replacing Santa Claus with Mrs Claus, but for Nathaniel Ratecliff and the Night Sweats to play it straight?
